ZAMINA LIVE at KALI

ZAMINA, whose dynamic fusion of Afrobeat, Highlife, and Afrofunk set the tone for the night. Their performance was a journey through sound, each track building upon the last, creating an atmosphere of pure joy and celebration.

The evening was made even more special as we welcomed back our former band member, Jamir Adiong. Jamir, an Asian brother who had moved to Kenya to immerse himself in Afrobeat and reggae music, rejoined us on stage, bringing his rich experiences and renewed energy. His return added a profound sense of unity and nostalgia, reminding us of the enduring bonds formed through our shared musical journey.

Following ZAMINA, Zoltan took the stage, bringing his unique blend of electronic and world music influences. His set was a seamless mix of beats and melodies that had the crowd moving non-stop.

Closing out the night was DJ Akatsuki, who kept the energy high with a selection of tracks that spanned genres and eras. His ability to read the crowd and keep the dance floor packed was a testament to his skill and experience as a DJ.

The coolest part was seeing Jamir’s family, Kaisa & their twin boys meeting up with Linh & Akinolu. Akin (Tomi’s 3 year old boy) as he danced to the stage and grabbed the shekere (African traditional musical instrument) and joined the rhythmic jam; it was a celebration of music, community, and culture. Attendees from all walks of life came together to dance, connect, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that Kali Social Club is known for.

Reflecting on the night, it’s clear that events like these play a crucial role in fostering cultural exchange and unity in Hanoi. They provide a platform for artists to share their craft and for audiences to experience the rich tapestry of global music.

As we look forward to future events, the memories of that night at Kali Social Club serve as a reminder of the power of music to bring people together. For those who missed it, keep an eye out for upcoming performances by these talented artists. The journey of musical discovery is far from over.
