Repatriation of Stranded Migrants (Batch 5): Transforming Lives Through Faith & Action

As we continued our commitment to support stranded African migrants in Hanoi, Batch 5 of repatriation—consisting of three individuals—was successfully completed in early 2025. This journey was not just about covering financial costs; it was about offering holistic support—spiritually, emotionally, and physically—while these migrants waited for their turn to return home.

A Sustainable Approach: Spiritual Care & Fellowship

Understanding that financial aid alone is not a sustainable solution, I met with the pastor and elders of Hanoi International Fellowship (HIF) to discuss a long-term approach to supporting these migrants. Together, we focused on discipleship, prayer, and fellowship, ensuring that while waiting for repatriation, they received spiritual guidance, emotional strength, and a renewed sense of hope.

Through this support system, many of the migrants experienced deep personal transformation. The sense of community within HIF helped them navigate the uncertainty of their situation while keeping their faith strong.

Financial Support & Repatriation Success

 Thanks to the generosity of the church and individual donors, we were able to cover the overstay clearance fees and flight costs for all three individuals in Batch 5. Their journey home was more than just a physical relocation; it was a testimony of faith, resilience, and the power of community support.

Looking Forward: Sustainable Solutions for Stranded Migrants

While each successful repatriation is a victory, we recognize that preventive action and structural solutions are needed. As we continue working with the government, faith-based communities, and humanitarian organizations, our goal remains clear:

• Providing awareness and education to prevent future cases of visa fraud.
• Building sustainable support systems for stranded migrants.
• Ensuring spiritual and emotional care for those in distress.
