Tomi and the members of Zamina performed a reggae and an Afrocalypso set in support of Bonaparte. Hanoi’s favourite six-piece Afrobeat-reggae band Zamina, was in town for the night and treated the audience to their reunion performance.
Bonaparte
They’ve been called “the best band in the world”, “a wild rock’n’roll-trash-punk-troupe de force”, and “a bizarre fantasy”. And now this rolling, roiling, ever-changing collective of noisemakers and rabble-rousers brought their one-of-a-kind show to Hanoi for the very first time on Friday, 29th November, 2013 which took place at Tadioto, 2nd Floor, Building A, 9 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi.
With six albums and their own feature film under their belt, Bonaparte have built a reputation as one of Berlin’s most dynamic live acts, gaining rave reviews worldwide for their energetic live shows. Lead by Swiss songwriter Tobias Jundt, the band are a true rock’n’roll circus – a rotating collective of 20 musicians, designers, dancers from around the globe, who bring a theatrical, trashy punk energy to the stage.
Having toured the world from Russia and Australia, the band’s first Asian excursion took place across China, Thailand and Vietnam.
I was at that event. It was a blast.
